Skinning a Rabbit Using Flint Tools including Flint Knapping & Bushcraft Skills

This is my first attempt at skinning a Rabbit using flint, I thought I would share my experience with you and show you how I like to skin Rabbits. This video includes general Bushcraft Skills and a short peice of Flint Knapping that I recorded at BushcraftUK Bushmoot, thanks to John & Will Lord for doing the Flint Knapping course there. http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/

    pretty gore

Pretty cool, I used to know someone who could skin a rabbit and prepare it for cooking in like 1 minute but he was using a knife

  3. NaturalBushcraft Says:

You “caught a dead rabbit”? lol. Hope it was alive at one point ;)

  4. LOL we’ve jus caught a dead rabbit an ive jus cut its head off….first time too….i was so proud :)

  5. NaturalBushcraft Says:

Cheers bud! It was my first go too. :)

  6. Better work than some of seen. If your saving the skin why not skin out head at the same time. I ran a trapline a few years & can’t imagine the added work lopping head would add! The added weight of body help & gives a handhold. Still a lot more respectful than some vids I’ve seen. Tossdart

Absolutely! Well spotted, lol. I was going to use that stump as an outdoor table-top once, it already had the whole in the core and I remember trying to impress the Mrs by putting a tea-light in the middle lol, as you can see it ended up as a chopping block!

    Is it just me?…..
Or is there a Tea candle in the center of that stump?….

great job. Well done man. I found the video extremely clear, and gives really easy to follow instructions after first watch. I got a good laugh to, as the bag you used to put the guts in said “The Body Shop” on its logo. Heh heh heh….found that funny

good stuff brother, Keep ‘em coming

  14. NaturalBushcraft Says:

He probably will be!.. Just skin him soon and check that his intestines haven’t burst and im sure it’ll be fine. I had one the other day on the side of the road, fresh as a daisy (still warm) took it straight home, skinned it and ate it, was better than some rabbits I have bought before!

  15. A Lucky kill….. Knocked it over in the van!!(Accidently) And finished him off by hand!! Not a mark on him… Hope he’s fit for eating!!
    Cheers,Ash

Great vid, nice to see flint being used instead of some mega over priced knife, hope you do some more, how about squirrel?

  17. NaturalBushcraft Says:
