  1. You may get better answers in Earth Sci & Geology. Chert that’s truly white, I don’t think I have seen, it’s usually greyish until/unless fired for hardness. Are you maybe looking for marble from White’s mines in west Texas? I ask because chert is usually used when describing lithic tool kits especially knapped hunting points and was traded by hunter gatherers. I’ve seen what I recognize as white marble among cache (spills?) and camps, although not commonly. Where – down along the Rio Grande, Big Bend.
